Bob Spencer Receives 2008 AG-Vocate Award

Bob Spencer, vice president and partner of West Coast Tomato in Palmetto, received the 2008 AG-Vococate Award in recognition of his exceptional efforts in responding to media inquiries during the FDA’s investigation of last year’s salmonella saintpaul outbreak.  Nominated by  Lisa Lochridge of the Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association, she noted that Bob “..consistently made himself available whenever when television crews and reporters called or showed up in the fields where harvesting had stopped – even while trying to take some well-deserved vacation time.”
