Join your ACF colleagues for a no-cost, ACF-members-only virtual tour of U.S. Sugar led by ACF board members Judy Sanchez, Ryan Duffy and a local guide in Clewiston.
Monday, February 15, 2021
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM EDT
Through a combination of prerecorded and live presentations, Judy and Ryan discuss Glades farming communities, crops grown in the Everglades Agricultural Area, water issues and best management practices, then walk attendees through the process of planting, harvesting, transporting, milling, manufacturing and refining sugar. It’s an in-depth look that takes the viewer from the field to factory. Judy and Ryan will also save time for Q&A to address any issues regarding sugarcane farming in South Florida.
U.S. Sugar will send you a real, not virtual, sugar cookie kit after the tour if you share a mailing address with chrismoran@ufl.edu.
